For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your whole heart.I will be found by you”, says the Lord. Jer 29:11-14
As we grow in whole heartedly seeking the Lord, we are encouraged by signs of His
presence and hand on us at this time. We had an excellent meeting with Bishop John last Monday as we agreed dates and further detail about the recruitment process. The advertisement will be in the Church of England Newspaper from Friday 10 February for 3 weeks and also on their jobs website for 4 weeks, taking us to the week-end of 4 March. It will also be on the Anglican Mainstream and Reform websites, as well as our own website.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 14 March, with an interview date of Thursday 12 April. We were all encouraged to discover that there are more people expressing interest in Christ Church, and the vacancy to serve the Lord here, than we had thought, and also to discover that some of the large evangelical churches are so supportive of our situation here, despite not knowing us. We look forward to having a good response; do pray that God’s man stands out for us and that we would all look at this process with His eyes as we await His provision and plan for us – so much better than our own! Continue in fervent prayer folks!!
QUIET MORNING – our next Quiet Time together will be Saturday 24th March at Bishops Wood, so do put this date in your diaries as this time set aside to enjoy a longer period of worship, Bible study and listening to God than normal weekly activities allow, is always valuable and enjoyed by all.
THE LIGHTHOUSE: please continue to pray for the work at The Lighthouse, in particular for health and energy amongst the small band of volunteers. Please
pray on Wednesday mornings for Heather as she opens familiar bible stories in a
sensitive and gentle way, and for all using The Lighthouse that God would draw
men to Himself through that ministry
